May News

May is here and it will be a busy month.  In Math we will be working on perimeter, area and motion geometry (example: flips and slides).  On Monday May 7th, the Grade 3's will participate in the school-wide track and field meet. Grade 3 will also be participating in the Swim to Survive program on May 8, 10 and 11th. At the end of May, Grade 3 will be involved in the EQAO tests.  The exact dates will be sent to you later in the month.  During this time the Grade 2's will have the opportunity to learn interesting facts about animals and complete activities about their facts.  Both Grade 2 and 3 have had fun investigating new math games with the school computers.  Thank-you to Mme. Lachine who has made this possible by volunteering her time and the library, as well as, setting up the computers for our visits.

Monday, 2 April 2012

During the month of April, the Grade 2's will be finishing their Grade 2 CTCS testing this first week.
In Math, the Grade 2's and 3's will continue learning about geometry (attributes, angles, congruent, symmetry, pyramids, and prisms).  We have also include an introduction into mulitipication.

March is going quickly and we have continued working on measurement (mass, capacity) in Math.  We will soon be moving on to geometry and investigating shapes and solids.

Just a reminder that we will be visiting our pen pals at Extendicare on Tuesday, January 17th.  Parents are welcome to come with us on the bus.  The bus leaves the front of the building at 9:45 a.m.
